A Milestone in Our Journey Towards Swift Justice for Every Indian: PM Modi

New Delhi, Dec 3 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted that today marks a significant day in the nation's efforts to guarantee swift justice for every Indian while also liberating from colonial mindsets.
PM Modi, alongside Union Home Minister Amit Shah, will observe the practical implementation of three laws that are actively transforming the criminal justice framework on Tuesday in Chandigarh.
Prior to the event, PM Modi shared on X, "Today is a special day in our endeavors to ensure swift justice for every Indian and simultaneously shed colonial legacies. At 12 noon today, I will participate in the program in Chandigarh to celebrate the successful rollout of three new criminal laws: Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam."
He added, "It brings immense joy that these laws are being enacted at a moment when we commemorate 75 years of our Constitution's adoption by the Constituent Assembly."
In Chandigarh, a live demonstration will illustrate how the newly introduced digital platforms like e-Sakshya, Nyay Setu, Nyay Shruti, and e-Summons have enhanced law enforcement, judicial processes, and evidence management through a simulated crime scene investigation.
These applications were developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) in partnership with the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) under the Ministry of Home Affairs’ guidance.
PM Modi will officially dedicate to the nation the successful implementation of three transformative new criminal laws—Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam—at the Punjab Engineering College (PEC) during the program titled “Secure Society, Developed India—From Punishment to Justice.”
The inception of these three laws stemmed from the Prime Minister's vision to eliminate colonial-era statutes that persisted after Independence and to reform the judicial system by shifting the focus from punishment to justice.
The new criminal laws, which were implemented nationwide on July 1, aim to render the legal system more transparent, efficient, and responsive to the demands of modern society.
These groundbreaking reforms signify a historic revamp of the criminal justice system, introducing new frameworks to address contemporary challenges such as cybercrime, organized crime, and to ensure justice for victims of various offenses.
In preparation for the Prime Minister's visit, a substantial security presence has been arranged.
