Patna, Nov 13 (NationPress) With the polls for both phases of the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections now concluded, the spotlight shifts to the crucial vote counting scheduled for November 14. Before the results are even announced, the political climate in the state has escalated dramatically. RJD leader Sunil Kumar Singh issued a stark warning on Thursday, suggesting that if any form of manipulation occurs during the vote-counting process, Bihar could descend into a situation reminiscent of Nepal.
Sunil Kumar Singh, a close confidant of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, and the maternal uncle of Tejashwi Yadav, cautioned that any interference during the counting to sway the election results could lead to serious unrest.
“During the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, the counting was delayed by 4 to 5 hours. Should a similar situation arise tomorrow, our candidates will either emerge from the counting centers or the Returning Officers will face consequences,” Singh emphasized.
He stressed that any attempts at rigging or tampering with the electoral outcome would be met with strong opposition, stating RJD supporters would take to the streets to protest.
Furthermore, Singh accused certain individuals within the government of attempting to meddle with the counting process.
His comments have sparked intense reactions from the ruling NDA, whose members have dismissed Singh's remarks as expressions of frustration and fear of impending defeat.
BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal accused the RJD of trying to instigate chaos.
“There is a rule of law in Bihar,” Jaiswal stated. “If RJD members engage in violence or mischief, the authorities will respond decisively. In an election, the mandate lies with the people — and this time, the people of Bihar have chosen the NDA. The RJD is feeling anxious and is making incendiary remarks out of fear of loss,” he added.
Sunil Kumar Singh’s statements have thrust him back into the limelight, known for his candid remarks.
As the countdown to the vote counting begins at 8 am on Friday, his comments have exacerbated political tensions in the state, with both alliances preparing for a fiercely contested outcome on November 14.
