Chandigarh, Nov 23 (NationPress) Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Working President Ashwani Sharma, on Sunday, charged the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration, the Congress, and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) with uniting solely for political advantages and engaging in deceptive propaganda against them.
He emphasized that the announcement made by the Union government on the social media platform X distinctly states that no Constitutional Bill concerning Chandigarh is set to be introduced in the Winter session of the Lok Sabha.
"Thus, the climate of apprehension fostered by the AAP government and the Opposition is merely a political charade."
Sharma underscored that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central government have consistently been pro-Punjab.
"The BJP has defended Punjab's interests at every juncture -- whether it pertains to water, Chandigarh, or any other matter affecting Punjab's welfare."
He launched a vigorous attack on AAP, Congress, and Akali Dal, asserting that these three parties lack genuine concern for Punjab; instead, they are fabricating a false narrative against the BJP to gain power.
Directing criticism towards AAP, BJP leader Sharma remarked that the Punjab government, which has failed to deliver on its electoral promises, has also not managed to curb criminal gangs, illegal mining, or provide compensation to flood victims.
"To divert public focus from these failures, they are leveling baseless accusations against the BJP."
He added that AAP's entire performance has illustrated their habit of shifting blame onto the BJP for every shortcoming.
Criticizing Congress and Akali Dal, BJP leader Sharma stated: "These issues (water, Chandigarh, and Centre-state relations) stem from decades of mistakes made by these long-standing parties. The challenges they could not resolve themselves -- today, they aim to mislead the public by blaming the BJP. But past errors cannot be concealed any longer."
Attacking the Shiromani Akali Dal, the BJP leader mentioned that the Akali Dal is now targeting the BJP merely to preserve the little political ground they have left.
He added that Congress is currently frightened because the BJP is emerging as a robust political force, supplanting them in Punjab. Therefore, Congress, along with AAP and the Akalis, is fueling false propaganda against the BJP.
Reaffirming the BJP's commitment, lawmaker Sharma stated that whenever any issue arises concerning Punjab's interests, the BJP will always advocate for a Punjab-friendly resolution through discussions with the Central government.
He concluded by asserting that the BJP does not engage in politics but works exclusively for the welfare and interests of the people of Punjab.
