Mumbai, Nov 25 (NationPress) Actor Celina Jaitly has approached a Mumbai court, alleging that her husband, Austrian entrepreneur Peter Haag, has subjected her to severe emotional, physical, verbal, and financial abuse.

The Andheri magistrate court issued a notice to Haag on Tuesday, scheduling the next hearing for December 12.

In her application submitted under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, Jaitly claims she was compelled to leave their residence in Austria and return to India on October 11, leaving their three children behind.

She asserts that Haag has since obstructed all communication with the children, allowing only one interaction on November 14.

Jaitly has also accused Haag of initiating divorce proceedings in Austria, where their marriage was registered in 2010. The couple had previously wed in a Hindu ceremony in Mumbai.

The actor is seeking Rs 10 lakh monthly in maintenance and Rs 50 crore as compensation for alleged earnings lost due to years of abuse.

Additionally, she seeks orders to prevent Haag from interfering with her access to their shared property in Andheri. Her application also demands Rs 1.26 crore for losses incurred from the removal of properties in Mumbai and Vienna, and Rs 32 lakh for alleged misappropriation of funds.

In her comprehensive complaint, Jaitly recounts numerous instances of cruelty throughout their relationship. She alleges that Haag demanded expensive gifts from her family prior to their marriage and describes instances of abuse during their honeymoon in Italy, at their Mumbai residence, and around the birth of their twins in 2012.

Jaitly claims Haag forced her relocation to Dubai in 2011 and then to Singapore, which led her to abandon her acting career to support his overseas assignments.

She describes enduring repeated verbal and racist insults, causing deep psychological harm despite her professional successes, including being Miss India 2001, a Miss Universe runner-up, and a qualified CDS exam candidate.

The application further alleges financial coercion, claiming Haag took ownership of her Indian property and sold their Vienna property in July without her knowledge, as well as confiscated her personal belongings, including her Miss India crown.
