Ahmedabad, March 7 (NationPress) In a notable initiative leading up to International Women's Day, the Adani Group hosted a delegation of female ambassadors representing nine nations at their projects in Khavda and Mundra, located in Gujarat. The ambassadors observed India's advancements in clean energy, infrastructure, and industrial growth.
The delegation's first stop was Khavda, a remote area in the arid Kutch district of western India, where Adani Green Energy, the leading renewable energy company in India, is constructing the world’s largest clean energy facility.
Covering an area five times larger than Paris, the 30 GW solar and wind energy project is set to play a crucial role in fulfilling India's increasing energy needs with clean, affordable, and reliable power. The ambassadors witnessed how this renewable project is merging state-of-the-art technology with sustainable development, featuring the Energy Network Operations Centre (ENOC), managed by women engineers.
At Mundra Port, which is India's largest commercial port handling approximately 11 percent of the nation's maritime cargo and 33 percent of its container traffic, the women ambassadors explored the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) within the Mundra Special Economic Zone (SEZ), where international firms are investing in advanced manufacturing.
They also toured Adani's advanced solar manufacturing facility, which is a pivotal project in India's quest for self-sufficiency in renewable energy.
Throughout their visit, the ambassadors interacted with women professionals and engineers who are pivotal in India's industrial, economic, and energy transformation, highlighting the increasing influence of women in shaping the nation’s trajectory.
