Patna, July 25 (NationPress) Shortly after Rabri Devi, the Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, expressed concerns over a potential life threat to her son Tejashwi Yadav, Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha stated that the government is prepared to enhance security measures if the RJD leader genuinely feels endangered.
However, the Deputy Chief Minister urged Tejashwi to specify the type of security he believes is necessary.
Rabri Devi claimed that there have been attempts on Tejashwi's life, accusing the BJP and JD(U) of orchestrating a conspiracy against him.
In response to Rabri's remarks labelling ruling party MLAs as “naali ka keeda” (drain worms), Vijay Kumar Sinha commented, “What can you expect from her?”
When Rabri referred to JD(U) state president Samrat Chaudhary as a “goon”, Deputy CM Sinha retorted that her remarks epitomize the definition of “gundaraj and jungleraj” from her administration.
While addressing the internal discord regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, Vijay Kumar Sinha indicated that the JD(U) has requested an explanation from party MP Girdhari Yadav for voicing concerns about the revision process, emphasizing that individuals should consider their responsibilities before questioning constitutional institutions.
On the fifth and final day of the monsoon session, tensions escalated in the Bihar Assembly following Thursday's uproar and physical confrontations between ruling and opposition MLAs.
In an unusual display, both JD(U) and BJP MLAs donned helmets in the Assembly, citing safety fears and alleging potential attacks from Grand Alliance MLAs.
“Recently, Grand Alliance MLAs have resorted to hooliganism, which is why we have come to the House wearing helmets for our protection,” remarked one NDA MLA.
The monsoon session has been overshadowed by ongoing opposition protests against the voter list revision, with allegations that the government is colluding with the Election Commission of India to eliminate poor voters' names, a claim the National Democratic Alliance has denied.
Amid chants, protests in black attire from the opposition, and helmet-wearing ruling party MLAs, the monsoon session has seen repeated adjournments with minimal legislative progress.
