Yadav has consistently positioned the facility as a dual-purpose asset: a conservation landmark and an engine of eco-tourism revenue for the districts surrounding Etawah.

That second argument matters. Etawah is not a major urban centre, and safari-linked tourism was explicitly designed to generate livelihoods in the surrounding belt. When a facility like this underperforms or deteriorates, the economic fallout reaches local vendors, guides, and hospitality workers — not just the lions.

The opposition playbook — and why this one has wider reach

Yadav's post follows a familiar script in UP opposition politics: the SP spotlights a flagship project from its 2012–2017 era and accuses the BJP administration of deliberate neglect. What gives this particular charge broader traction is the international peg — World Lion Day gives the appeal a ready-made audience beyond state politics, pulling in conservationists and wildlife advocates who have no stake in the partisan fight.

By tagging environmentalists and animal lovers directly, Yadav is trying to widen the coalition beyond SP voters. It is a calculated move: conservation grievances travel further on social media than governance statistics.
