Did HM Amit Shah Inaugurate a New Nursing College in Gujarat?

Mehsana, May 18 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah officially opened the newly built facility of K.K. Patel and Madhuben Patel Nursing College located in Gozaria, within the Mehsana district of Gujarat.

This educational institution is managed by the Shrimati Samarth Chunilal and Sheth Dosabhai Madhavji Public Hospital, a revered community establishment in the area.

During the inauguration event, Amit Shah spoke about the significant advancements made in India's healthcare sector under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi since 2014.

He stated, “Currently, 600 million people are benefiting from quality healthcare through the Ayushman Bharat scheme, with each card offering up to Rs 5 lakh in medical coverage.”

The Home Minister remarked that the enhancement in public healthcare access stands out as one of the Modi administration's most significant accomplishments.

Shah elaborated on various welfare initiatives that have improved health and sanitation among citizens, such as Poshan Abhiyaan, Swachh Bharat Mission, Fit India Movement, Har Ghar Jal, Mission Indradhanush, and Ayushman Bharat.

He noted, “Previously, India's healthcare budget was Rs 37,000 crore. Now, under PM Modi’s leadership, it has risen to Rs 1.37 lakh crore, specifically for public health.”

Shah also highlighted the ongoing development of infrastructure within the National Digital Health Ecosystem, which encompasses telemedicine services, Ayushman Mandirs (health and wellness centers), and beyond.

He pointed out the increase in medical institutions, noting the rise of AIIMS from 7 to 23 and the growth of medical colleges from 387 to 780.

“In the past, India produced only 51,000 medical graduates each year. Today, that number has skyrocketed to 1,18,000 doctors serving throughout the country,” he emphasized.

Furthermore, the Home Minister mentioned that over the last decade, Jan Aushadhi Kendras have provided affordable medications worth Rs 25,000 crore to the public.

These initiatives, he explained, have made modern healthcare accessible to rural and underserved populations. Shah passionately urged the community, “It is our duty to upgrade our traditional hospitals into centers of advanced medical care. With the support of schemes like Ayushman Bharat, even charity-run hospitals are revitalized and impactful.”

The newly established nursing college and hospital campus feature an array of modern departments such as surgery, gynecology, internal medicine, orthopedics, ophthalmology, pediatrics, dentistry, physiotherapy, and a kidney dialysis center.

Visiting specialist services include ENT, dermatology, psychiatry, sonography, gastroenterology, echocardiography, nephrology, neurology, and pulmonology. This comprehensive facility is anticipated to cater to over 50 nearby villages, establishing itself as a center for both education and healthcare in the region. The institution aims to deliver high-quality medical services, underpinned by advanced technology and a human-centered approach.

Member of Parliament Hari Patel expressed pride in this moment for Gozaria and extended gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah for their dedication to healthcare and rural development. The ceremony was also graced by Param Pujya Vagishkumar of Kankroli, who offered prayers and acknowledged the contributions of various donors and trustees.
