Amaravati, July 4 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, announced on Friday that the state government plans to identify 15 lakh impoverished families and appoint one lakh guides by August 15 under the P4 (Public Private People Partnership) initiative designed for poverty alleviation.

The P4 scheme encourages the wealthiest 10 percent of society to adopt and support the most disadvantaged 20 percent to empower them.

The inaugural general body meeting for the Swarnandhra-P4 Foundation was presided over by Chief Minister Naidu at the State Secretariat. The meeting included participation from ministers, public representatives, and officials via video conference from district to mandal levels.

The CM instructed the establishment of two central committees: a state-level Executive Committee and an Advisory Committee.

It was also decided to set up P4 chapters at both district and constituency levels, including vice-chairmen of the Swarnandhra-P4 Foundation (with appointed ministers), public representatives, and government officials. Additionally, the CM approved the official P4 logo and provided strategic guidance to all attendees.

“Our objective is to illuminate the lives of the impoverished through the P4 initiative. Its message should resonate in every community. We aim to bridge the gap between the affluent and the underprivileged. Previous initiatives like ‘Janma Bhoomi’ stirred excitement, and the response to ‘P4’ has been equally positive,” he stated.

The government intends to identify 15 lakh families referred to as ‘Bangaru Kutumbams’ or golden families and appoint 100,000 guides by August 15. These guides are expected to assist the families by providing both initial support and continuous mentorship. “One-time assistance isn’t sufficient; we require dedicated mentors who remain involved. Identify these mentors—from NRIs, industries, and philanthropists across constituencies—who are already assisting the impoverished in various capacities and bring them onto the P4 platform,” emphasized the CM.

“Through P4, we envision eradicating poverty in the state by 2029. This is not a mundane goal—it’s a challenge we must conquer to make history. Once we are determined, even the unattainable can become achievable,” he added.

He is confident that the P4 initiative will uplift the underprivileged and lessen economic disparities. The affluent 10 percent who have succeeded will invest in the impoverished 20 percent, fostering a meaningful culture of giving back. He cited philanthropic models such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Vedanta and GMR Foundations.
