Chandigarh, July 20 (NationPress) In a surprising turn of events, just a day after Anmol Gagan Maan declared her resignation from both her role as an AAP lawmaker and her political career, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced on Sunday that her resignation has been formally rejected by the party.

She represents Kharar in the Mohali district. The decision was communicated to her by AAP Punjab President Aman Arora, who visited her at her home.

“Today, I met @AnmolGaganMann in a familial setting. The party has decided to reject her resignation as an MLA, which she has accepted. We encouraged her to keep working collaboratively for the advancement of the party and the constituency. Anmol was, is, and will always remain a part of the family of @ArvindKejriwal ji and @AamAadmiParty,” Arora stated in a post on X in Punjabi.

On Saturday, the former Cabinet minister revealed her intention to exit politics, sharing her resignation on her social media account. In a post on X, Anmol expressed, “With a heavy heart, I have decided to leave politics. My resignation as an MLA, submitted to the Speaker, may be accepted. I wish the best for the party. I am optimistic that the Punjab Government will meet the expectations of the people.”

The 36-year-old artist-turned-politician was appointed to the Bhagwant Mann Cabinet in July 2022 as the Tourism and Investment Promotion Minister. However, she was asked to resign from the cabinet in September of the previous year.
