Bhopal, December 2 (NationPress) As Chief Minister Mohan Yadav commenced the evaluation of his Cabinet Ministers' performance starting Tuesday, leaders from the Madhya Pradesh Congress party launched a coordinated critique against him, asserting that the law and order in the state is deteriorating.

Leading this criticism, State Congress Chief Jitu Patwari stated that while the Opposition acknowledges CM Yadav's initiative, it would be more beneficial if he assessed the performance of the departments he oversees, particularly the Home Department.

"The Chief Minister is in charge of numerous departments, including Home Affairs. The law and order situation in Madhya Pradesh has declined, and criminals operate without fear of the police. Therefore, it would be prudent for the Chief Minister to evaluate his own performance," Patwari remarked.

Senior Congress member and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath responded to the Cabinet Ministers' performance review led by the Mohan Yadav administration, suggesting that such reviews should occur regularly.

Nath also claimed that Madhya Pradesh has become the leading state in terms of crime and corruption.

"Madhya Pradesh is now synonymous with crime and corruption, marking the true legacy of the BJP government over the last two decades. It ranks first in unemployment, atrocities against women, and issues concerning Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes. The law and order situation has completely broken down in Madhya Pradesh," the former Chief Minister stated during a media briefing at the state Assembly.

Chief Minister Yadav reviewed the performance of his Cabinet Ministers at the Assembly.

On the inaugural day of the Assembly session, the Chief Minister assessed the performance of three Ministers -- Uday Pratap Singh (Transport and School Education), Prahlad Patel (Panchayat and Rural Development), and Inder Singh Parmar (Higher Education Department).

Since the State Home Department falls under CM Yadav's jurisdiction, he has faced consistent criticism from the Opposition whenever significant crimes have surfaced over the past two years.

Sources familiar with the political situation informed IANS that CM Yadav had already instructed senior bureaucrats and the Ministers to prepare for the review meeting.

Senior officials, including the Chief Secretary, will also participate in these meetings.

Following the review meeting in Bhopal, additional department-wise meetings are scheduled to take place in Khajuraho on December 8 and 9. The objective is to foster enhanced governance transparency and accelerate decision-making.

Notably, the evaluation of Ministers' performance comes as CM Mohan Yadav's administration is poised to mark two years in office in the upcoming fortnight.
