Nagpur, March 9 (NationPress) Yoga guru and Patanjali Yogpeeth founder Baba Ramdev stated on Sunday that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj serves as our role model, unlike Aurangzeb, who looted the nation.
During the inauguration of the Patanjali Food Park in Nagpur, attended by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, he asserted, “Aurangzeb cannot be an exemplar for India; he was known for his cruelty. Aurangzeb was a thief, just like his ancestors. Babur came to India not to build but to destroy. Historical figures like Babur, Akbar, and Aurangzeb created disloyalty and dishonored countless mothers and sisters, attempting to erase our national identity. Such figures cannot inspire us. Our true hero is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj,” he remarked.
This statement follows a recent uproar regarding the glorification of Aurangzeb by Samajwadi Party legislator Abu Azmi, which led to his suspension from the state Assembly until the ongoing budget session concludes.
Ramdev also addressed the policies of US President Donald Trump, stating, “Trump has initiated a new era of tariff terrorism, undermining democracy and disregarding the World Bank. He is engaging in economic terrorism by inflating the dollar's value while depreciating the currencies of poorer nations. Trump, Putin, and Xi Jinping are not trustworthy. India must become a developed nation. Certain powerful countries are steering the world towards ruin. Therefore, Indians must unite to forge a robust nation and counteract this destructive force,” he asserted.
Regarding the food park, Ramdev mentioned it will have a daily processing capacity of 800 tons. “We will produce juice naturally, thereby ensuring prosperity for farmers. Today, we will establish a nursery to cultivate quality seedlings to enhance orange production. We also plan to extract juice from various fruits naturally and aim to export oranges, reaching out to Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan for sourcing oranges from adjacent states,” he elaborated.
In his speech, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis remarked that the Patanjali Food Park will significantly benefit orange farmers. He assured that the state government will provide all possible support to this initiative, and a nursery equipped with necessary facilities will be jointly established by the Patanjali group and the state.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari added that this project will generate employment opportunities and create a market for oranges.
