Kolkata, Oct 11 (NationPress) An elderly man mercilessly hacked his wife to death using a sharp weapon and later turned himself in to the authorities in the Durgapur area of West Burdwan district, according to police reports released on Saturday.
The tragic incident occurred late last night in the Dhobighat region under the jurisdiction of the Durgapur police station. The police promptly arrested the suspect, identified as Durgadas Kar (75), a professional tutor. The victim was named Mukul Kar (65), and the couple had one son, Shantanu Kar.
Authorities recovered the victim's body and transported it to the Durgapur Sub-divisional Hospital for an autopsy. The Durgapur police are conducting a thorough investigation to uncover the motives behind this gruesome murder.
