New Delhi, Jan 24 (NationPress) In a bold prediction, Rashtriya Loktantrik Party President Hanuman Beniwal anticipates a sweeping victory for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), forecasting at least 60 seats in the forthcoming Delhi Assembly elections. On Friday, he called upon Jat voters to rally behind Arvind Kejriwal.
The Jat leader from Rajasthan stated that the RLP's decision to support AAP stems from the party's fight for reservation for Jats in the capital. "The AAP is poised to secure as many as 60 votes as disenfranchised citizens are set to support it," he remarked, emphasizing the public's discontent with both BJP and Congress and their demand for an alternative.
"A victory for AAP in Delhi will convey a powerful message against the ongoing attempts to undermine democracy in our nation,” Beniwal conveyed to IANS.
He mentioned that he recently met with the former Delhi Chief Minister after AAP requested his party's assistance in countering BJP ahead of the February 5 Delhi elections.
Additionally, Beniwal criticized the Agnipath scheme for military recruitment.
"The BJP has overlooked Jats in Haryana and Rajasthan, demoralizing Jat farmers and soldiers from enlisting in the military due to the Agniveer scheme," he stated.
The Member of Parliament from Nagaur emphasized that AAP is a natural partner due to its focus on poor welfare and its challenge to the authoritarianism of the central government.
He expressed concerns over a serious threat to democracy, claiming that opposition leaders are facing harassment through ED raids.
Having left the NDA in 2020, Beniwal stated that he and numerous supporters would actively campaign in Delhi in the upcoming days.
He also accused the BJP and Congress of forming a covert alliance in Delhi aimed at undermining AAP. The two parties have similarly collaborated in Rajasthan.
Beniwal asserted that the Congress is intent on eliminating AAP in Delhi, declaring: "The Congress will not win even a single seat in the city."
He further criticized Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, for allegedly damaging the INDIA bloc.
"Currently, the INDIA bloc is non-existent. We demand Rahul Gandhi's removal from the coalition," he stated.
The elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will occur on February 5, with results announced on February 8. In the current Assembly, AAP holds 62 seats, while BJP has 8.
