Patna, Dec 2 (NationPress) In a bid to enhance security and optimize traffic management in Patna, the city is set to install 650 new CCTV cameras. These cameras will be distributed throughout various locations to ensure comprehensive surveillance.
Patna Smart City Limited has pinpointed 197 locations for camera installation, focusing on areas that currently lack monitoring capabilities.
As part of this initiative, cameras will be placed at crucial sites, such as the newly constructed double-decker bridge on Ashoka Rajpath and along the JP Ganga Path from Sabhyata Dwar to Didarganj.
Moreover, the surveillance framework is being broadened at all city entry and exit points.
A comprehensive proposal has been submitted to the relevant authorities and is pending financial endorsement.
Upon receiving approval, the installation of all 650 cameras will commence.

This installation includes 2,602 surveillance cameras, 473 Red Light Violation Detection (RLVD) cameras, 150 Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras, 12 Speed Violation Detection (SVD) cameras, and 120 Vehicle Detection and Classification (VDC) cameras.
Officials are confident that the addition of 650 cameras will further enhance Patna’s smart surveillance system, resulting in improved safety, smoother traffic flow, and better civic management.
