New Delhi, Nov 14 (NationPress) The vote counting process for all 243 constituencies in the Bihar Assembly election commenced on Friday, supported by extensive and multi-layered security protocols.

The counting kicked off at 8 a.m. with the initial processing of postal ballots, followed by the tallying of votes from Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) starting at 8:30 a.m.

A comprehensive security framework has been established at the state's 46 counting centers spread across 38 districts. The inner security perimeter surrounding the strongrooms and counting halls is overseen by the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), while the outer security is managed by the Bihar Police and district law enforcement.

In addition, more than 106 companies of security personnel from other states have been deployed. The strongrooms, where the EVMs and VVPATs were sealed, have been under constant 24/7 CCTV surveillance since the conclusion of polling.

Candidates and their representatives have been allowed to observe the security measures outside the inner security perimeter.

Gayaji SSP Anand Kumar stated, "All essential preparations have been finalized. Each strong room is equipped with a three-layer security setup. All entry points and sensitive areas surrounding the venue are secured with sufficient deployment of Central Armed Police Forces..."

In Bhojpur, Superintendent of Police (SP) Raj mentioned, "In line with the prescribed standards, we have made all necessary arrangements. Security barricades have been established throughout the town, with similar measures implemented in subdivision areas. A total of eight CAPF companies are deployed across the district for maintaining law and order..."

Bhagalpur Municipal Commissioner Shubham Kumar informed, “Counting is ongoing for the Gopalpur, Bihpur, and Sultanganj Assembly seats. A magistrate is present at each location. All candidates have been notified, and their polling agents are being granted access..."

The counting process is supervised by 243 Returning Officers and 243 Counting Observers appointed by the Election Commission. Over 18,000 counting agents nominated by the candidates are present to monitor the proceedings. Only individuals possessing valid passes are permitted entry into the counting centers, and the use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited within the counting halls.

The Election Commission has urged both the media and the public to refer solely to the official results portal for precise updates. Live, real-time results and trends are available on the official ECI website and the Voter Helpline App.
