Patna, Nov 14 (NationPress) The BJP and JD(U) are entangled in a fierce competition for the title of the largest party as early indications reveal both factions nearly tied in their quest, while the NDA continues to hold a substantial lead in the Bihar Assembly elections.
As per the updates from the Election Commission of India at 11:15 a.m., the JD(U) is currently ahead in 79 seats, while the BJP has gained a lead with 83 seats. Collectively, the NDA is leading in 188 constituencies, far surpassing the Mahagathbandhan, which stands at 44 seats.
The counting of votes for all 243 Assembly seats kicked off at 8 a.m., starting with the examination of postal ballots. This was subsequently followed by the tallying of votes from Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) beginning at 8:30 a.m., conducted under stringent multi-layered security across the state.
Representatives from both alliances displayed confidence in their electoral performance. NDA leaders are asserting that the populace of Bihar has reaffirmed their trust in Prime Minister Modi's assurances and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's commitment to the state's advancement.
Conversely, the Mahagathbandhan, led by the RJD, argues that Bihar has preferred a shift towards change, expressing hope that Tejashwi Yadav will assume leadership of the next government.
