Patna, Nov 14 (NationPress) Candidates from all political parties displayed confidence as the counting for the Bihar Assembly elections commenced on Friday.
The counting process for all 243 constituencies is in full swing, accompanied by extensive and multi-layered security measures.
Vote counting began at 8 a.m. with postal ballots being processed, followed by the tallying of votes from Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) starting at 8:30 a.m.
Minister Ashok Chaudhary commented to IANS, "Some voters have chosen to reject 'Jungle Raj 2' and are eager for Nitish Kumar's return. A clear majority is on the horizon for us."
BJP candidate Sanjeev Chaurasiya from Digha expressed confidence that the NDA will again take the reins in Bihar.
"We anticipate a favorable outcome due to the overwhelming support from the public," Chaurasiya stated to IANS.
BJP candidate Puran Lal Tudu from Katoria conveyed, "Our supporters have invested their efforts wholeheartedly, and I am optimistic about the integrity of these contributions."
On the other hand, the Mahagathbandhan's RJD expressed optimism, claiming that Bihar has cast its vote for change, forecasting Tejashwi Yadav as the future chief minister.
RJD candidate Surendra Ram from Garkha told IANS, "It is crystal clear that the populace has decided in favor of a Tejashwi-led government. The exit polls will be proven inaccurate once the results are out."
Candidates and their representatives were allowed to oversee security outside the restricted areas.
This counting process is supervised by 243 Returning Officers and an equal number of Counting Observers appointed by the Election Commission. Over 18,000 counting agents representing various candidates are also present to monitor the proceedings.
Entry into the counting centers is restricted to individuals with valid passes, and mobile phones are strictly banned within the counting halls.
Over 70 crore voters have participated in deciding the fate of both the Mahagathbandhan and the ruling NDA in Bihar.
