Patna, Nov 14 (NationPress) The ruling NDA appears to be on the verge of a monumental victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, with the most recent trends indicating the alliance surpassing the 200-seat mark by 1:30 p.m.
As per the initial trends released by the Election Commission of India (ECI) at 1:30 p.m., the BJP is standing out as the largest party, leading in 91 seats, while the JD(U) follows with 81 seats.
The alliance's partners -- the LJP(RV) are ahead in 21 seats, while Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) and HAMS are both leading in four seats.
In contrast, the Mahagathbandhan currently holds a total of 36 seats.
The counting of votes for all 243 Assembly seats began at 8 a.m., starting with the examination of postal ballots. Counting of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) votes commenced from 8:30 a.m., conducted under rigorous multi-tier security across the state.
Candidates from both alliances expressed optimism regarding their results. NDA leaders emphasized that the citizens of Bihar have shown their trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's assurances and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's contributions towards the state's progress.
Meanwhile, the Mahagathbandhan, led by the RJD, asserted that Bihar has voted for a change and expressed confidence that Tejashwi Yadav would lead the next government.
