Patna, July 20 (NationPress) The Patna Police have apprehended four suspects linked to the murder of gangster Chandan Kumar Mishra in Kolkata, including the primary shooter, as confirmed by an official on Sunday.
The District SSP, Kartikeya Sharma, shared with the media that the main shooter, Taushif Khan, also known as Badshah, was captured alongside Nishu Khan, Bhim Kumar, and Harsh Kumar during a police operation in Kolkata on Saturday.
“We are in the process of securing a transit remand in a Kolkata court to extradite the suspects back to Patna,” noted Sharma.
It was revealed that the entire plot was orchestrated by Nishu Khan, a known criminal from Patna’s Sammanpur area.
“The conspiracy was devised at Nishu Khan’s residence, where he and his accomplices, Bhim Kumar and Harsh Kumar, assisted Taushif in fleeing Patna. They were seen together in Nishu’s car, captured on CCTV footage as Taushif entered the vehicle post-crime,” the SSP elaborated.
Following the murder of Chandan Mishra at Paras Hospital on July 17, the Patna Police meticulously tracked the routes taken by the suspects.
“Through our investigation and the collaboration with the Kolkata STF and Kolkata Police, we successfully cornered and arrested Taushif, Nishu, and the others in a suburban residential complex in Kolkata,” Sharma added.
Expressing gratitude for the collaboration from Kolkata authorities, Sharma stated, “The support from the Kolkata STF and Kolkata Police has been commendable. Continued inter-state cooperation can help significantly reduce crime and ensure swift justice for criminals.”
As the investigation progressed, police discovered that nine individuals were implicated in the attack on Chandan Mishra at Paras Hospital.
“We have released images of three shooters, including Taushif alias Badshah, and identified all five shooters involved in Mishra's murder, who managed to escape from Patna. Teams are actively pursuing them, and they will be apprehended shortly,” assured Sharma.
Earlier today, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar summoned SSP Kartikeya Sharma to evaluate the investigation's progress concerning the murder case at Paras Hospital.
Sharma reportedly briefed the Chief Minister for approximately 15 minutes before returning to his office.
