Patna, July 13 (NationPress) A lawyer working at Patna Civil Court was tragically shot dead by unknown assailants on motorcycles in the Sultanganj area of Patna City on Sunday, causing unrest in the locality.
The victim, Jitendra Kumar, who lived in Mohammadpur under the jurisdiction of Sultanganj police station, had just visited a roadside tea stall when he was attacked by two individuals on a bike who opened fire at him. Kumar suffered serious gunshot wounds and was quickly taken to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), where he unfortunately passed away during treatment.
City SP (East) Parichay Kumar confirmed the incident and noted that a forensic team was dispatched to gather evidence from the scene. Authorities are also reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity to help identify the suspects.
“We are conducting a thorough investigation and are dedicated to identifying and capturing those responsible,” stated Kumar.
During their inquiry, Patna Police found three spent bullet casings at the crime scene.
