Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Sep 29 (NationPress) The unveiling of the Amrit Bharat trains during Navratri is being celebrated by the residents of Bihar, who have long struggled with travel across regions. These new services promise to enhance the ease and convenience of commuting.
Launching just in time for Dussehra, this initiative serves as a festive boon for the state's populace.
Travelers have shared their delight regarding the onboard amenities. Enhanced security measures have been implemented, featuring CCTV cameras and a specialized squad for safety and oversight.
The Amrit Bharat train is perceived as a significant leap toward Bihar's advancement.
"It's fantastic that we received this train during Navratri. Many will benefit from it. Bihar is progressing rapidly," said passenger Ravindra Kumar to IANS.
Ram Naresh Rai remarked, "I feel very comfortable on this train. The amenities are outstanding."
Another passenger, Vinod Kumar, stated, "I’m heading to Patna. Previously, traveling was a challenge, but I believe improvements are on the horizon. This is a commendable initiative."
Alok Kumar, traveling to Pataliputra, added, "This is truly impressive. The facilities are top-notch."
A railway scout mentioned, "In honor of Navratri, several new trains were launched. Amrit Bharat trains are recognized for their low fares and improved services. Currently, there are 12 such trains, with plans to increase this number to 15 soon."
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated seven new train services from Bihar, including three Amrit Bharat Express trains designed to provide affordable travel options for lower and middle-income passengers.
The new services were virtually flagged off from New Delhi by the minister, while Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary symbolically launched them at Patna Junction.
The newly introduced Amrit Bharat Express trains will operate on routes including Darbhanga–Madar (Ajmer), Muzaffarpur–Charlapalli (Hyderabad), and Chhapra–Anand Vihar (Delhi).
Additionally, four new passenger trains were launched on shorter routes within Bihar, connecting Jhajha–Danapur, Patna–Buxar, Nawada–Patna, and Patna–Islampur.
Highlighting the significance of this launch, Vaishnaw emphasized that these trains would offer hassle-free and economical transportation for Bihari migrants and daily commuters.
"Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and in collaboration with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, we are rolling out seven new trains that will link various cities and provide lower fares for middle and lower-income demographics," he stated.
The Railway Minister credited Bihar's Chief Minister for his past contributions to the railway sector.
"During Nitish Kumar's tenure as Railway Minister, he propelled the department to new heights. A downturn occurred between 2004 and 2014, but after PM Modi's leadership, Indian Railways began a transformation, reaching new milestones," he noted.
The introduction of the Amrit Bharat Express, a cost-effective alternative to the premium Vande Bharat trains, is part of the Centre’s initiative to modernize railway services while ensuring affordability for millions.
Choudhary expressed appreciation for the Centre’s focus on enhancing Bihar’s infrastructure.
"I extend my gratitude to PM Narendra Modi, CM Nitish Kumar, and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for their efforts in transforming Bihar’s rail and road infrastructure," he concluded.
