Patna, Oct 16 (NationPress) BJP MP Manoj Tiwari on Thursday forecasted a significant triumph for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections. He affirmed that the government is poised to foster prosperity and joy for the youth, women, and the underprivileged.
In an interview with IANS, Manoj Tiwari stated, "The NDA is set to reclaim governance in Bihar with a substantial majority. Our alliance is dedicated to ensuring prosperity and happiness for the youth, women, and the economically disadvantaged. The state has witnessed remarkable development, leading to satisfaction among the youth and women regarding the progress made."
Elaborating on initiatives for Bihar migrants, the BJP MP from North-East remarked, "We have created a holding area in Delhi for individuals traveling from Delhi to Bihar. This facility can host 5,000 people simultaneously, ensuring their comfort. My concern for Bihar remains strong even when I am away. People from cities like Bangalore are returning to vote, indicating a growing awareness among the populace."
Tiwari further emphasized the robust public backing for key leaders, asserting, "The trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has strengthened, bolstered by leaders like Chirag Paswan and Upendra Kushwaha within our alliance."
Addressing concerns about discontent within the coalition, he commented, "It’s natural for coalition members to seek more seats. However, sacrifices are essential. The seat-sharing agreement has been finalized now."
He also criticized the Opposition-led Mahagathbandhan, dubbing it ‘Lathbandhan’.
The Bihar Assembly elections are scheduled for two phases on November 6 and 11, with results to be announced on November 14, as per the Election Commission of India (ECI). The current assembly's term concludes on November 22, necessitating prompt elections. The previous elections in 2020 were conducted in three phases.
For the 2025 elections, a high-stakes contest is anticipated between the ruling NDA (comprising the Bharatiya Janata Party and Janata Dal (United)) and the opposition Mahagathbandhan led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal and Congress.
In the 2020 elections, the NDA achieved a majority with 125 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan secured 110 seats, with the RJD becoming the largest party with 75 seats. This election was notable as it was the first major poll post the COVID-19 pandemic, with a voter turnout of 56.93%.
This year, the Election Commission has implemented measures to enhance the voting experience. Each polling booth will cater to 1,200 voters instead of 1,500, increasing the total number of polling stations to 90,000 across the state.
