Patna, Nov 14 (NationPress) The resounding triumph of the NDA in Bihar has taken the opposition by surprise, significantly influenced by the performance in Madhubani district.
Among the nine Assembly constituencies, the NDA clinched eight seats, while the RJD only captured one—Bifsi.
Harlakhi: In the Harlakhi constituency of Madhubani, JDU candidate Sudhanshu Shekher emerged victorious against Rajesh Kumar Pandey of CPI, winning by a margin of 36,236 votes after 27 rounds of counting.
Babubarhi: Another stronghold for the JDU was Babubarhi, where Mina Kumari decisively defeated RJD’s Arun Kumar Singh by 17,568 votes.
Bifsi: This constituency saw the RJD's only win, with candidate Asif Ahmed defeating BJP's firebrand Haribhushan Thakur Bachaul by a margin of 8,107 votes. In Madhubani, Madhaw Anand from RLM beat Samir Kumar Mahaseth of RJD by 20,552 votes; Mahaseth was a cabinet minister in the prior Grand Alliance government.
Rajnagar: BJP’s Sujeet Kumar won against RJD's Bishnu Deo Mochi with a margin of 42,185 votes.
Jhanjharpur: Former Industry Minister Nitish Mishra bested Ram Narayan Yadav of CPI, winning by 54,849 votes.
