Patna, Aug 4 (NationPress) Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar declared on Monday the rollout of a new domicile policy that will be effective for the forthcoming Teachers Recruitment Examination (TRE)-4, set for 2025.
In a social media update, Nitish Kumar highlighted his administration’s persistent efforts to enhance the education framework in Bihar since he took office in November 2005.
“Over the years, a significant number of educators have been appointed. Now, directives have been sent to the Education Department to revise recruitment regulations to give preference to Bihar residents (domicile holders) in teacher hiring. This will come into effect from TRE-4 onward,” Nitish Kumar noted.
The Chief Minister also revealed that TRE-5 is slated for 2026, with the State Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) taking place prior to TRE-5, facilitating better coordination and ensuring well-qualified candidates.
This announcement has garnered strong support from leaders of the ruling party.
JD-U MLC Neeraj Kumar praised the decision as a “historic move” for Bihar’s youth.
“This is a much-needed, people-focused initiative by Nitish Kumar. The RJD, which awarded Rajya Sabha nominations to outsiders, including individuals from Haryana and Singapore for the Lok Sabha, should reconsider their choices. The youth of Bihar deserve the first opportunity for employment in our state,” Neeraj Kumar asserted.
The Chief Minister's recent decision aligns with other welfare initiatives. Notably, the stipends for Mamata and Asha workers have recently been increased.
ASHA workers will now earn an incentive of Rs 3,000, up from the previous Rs 1,000.
Mamta workers will receive Rs 600 per delivery, in contrast to the earlier Rs 300.
Additionally, the Chief Minister announced enhancements in the Journalist pension scheme, raising it from Rs 6,000 to Rs 15,000 under the Bihar Patrakar Samman Pension Yojana.
The Social Security Pension has also seen an increase from Rs 400 to Rs 1,100 for the elderly, disabled, and widowed individuals in Bihar.
Nitish Kumar announced the provision of 125 units of free electricity for all eligible households, while the government has pledged to create 1 crore jobs within the next five years.
