New Delhi, July 17 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fiercely criticized the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Thursday for his allegations of 'election chori' directed at the Election Commission (EC) concerning the 'SIR' initiative in Bihar. He also took a sarcastic jab at Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma during a public gathering.

Multiple spokespersons from the BJP condemned Gandhi’s comments regarding the voters list 'purging' process in Bihar, part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), accusing him of undermining the integrity of the election authority with his vague and outrageous statements.

Taking strong issue with his 'prison prophecy' for the Assam CM, they highlighted Gandhi's 'brazenness' in criticizing others while himself being an accused individual currently out on bail.

BJP spokesperson Tarun Chugh remarked that while the Congress has attempted to launch Gandhi multiple times, he and his party have faced repeated failures in elections, yet he persists in sowing chaos with his irresponsible rhetoric.

Chugh further noted that the Congress party is enveloped in negativity, frustration, and despair, which leads to such unfounded accusations.

Earlier on Thursday, Gandhi took to X to assert that the poll panel was caught red-handed engaging in vote theft under the guise of the voter verification initiative in Bihar, questioning whether it has become an 'election chori' division of the BJP.

In response to Gandhi's claims about the SIR initiative, Dinesh Pratap Singh, a minister in the UP government, sharply countered that Gandhi should show respect for democratic institutions and constitutional values. He criticized Gandhi for defending illegal migrants, including Bangladeshis and Rohingyas, amidst efforts to identify them.

Importantly, the EC has clarified that the electoral rolls revision in Bihar aims mainly at 'cleansing' the voter list of ineligible individuals and eliminating duplicate entries while retaining the rightful voters.

The BJP did not hold back in its criticism regarding Gandhi’s remarks about the impending imprisonment of the Assam CM, accusing him of inciting chaos.

BJP spokesperson Zafar Islam stated that Gandhi exhibits 'scant' respect for the law and only promotes disorder. He highlighted that while Gandhi has faced political failures, he continues to issue threats, despite being out on bail himself.

Islam further remarked, 'This is akin to a thief lecturing on security.' He further asserted that the entire Gandhi family is currently out on bail.

He warned, 'Rahul Gandhi ji, cease your anarchic rhetoric. The manner in which you threaten an elected Chief Minister, it’s only a matter of time before you find yourself behind bars.'

Chugh strongly objected to Gandhi’s statements regarding the Assam CM, emphasizing that the Leader of Opposition lacks a voice on the Pakistani connections of Gaurav Gogoi’s wife, yet proceeds to make absurd claims during his Assam visit.

Singh echoed similar sentiments, stating, 'Gandhi, who is on bail, threatens to imprison the Assam CM, reflecting the party's Emergency mentality.'

Point of View
