Delhi BJP Denounces AAP's False Claims of Worker Mistreatment in Rajendra Nagar
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, March 12 (NationPress) Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor sharply criticized the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party for their attempts to damage the reputation of the BJP by making unfounded claims regarding the mistreatment of their workers in the Rajendra Nagar region.
Kapoor accused AAP leaders of disseminating falsehoods as part of a broader scheme aimed at allowing BJP leaders to receive accolades for development projects in Rajendra Nagar, which are actually being executed by BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj.
He asserted that AAP's leadership is resorting to fabrications in a bid to adopt a victim narrative.
Kapoor further attacked the AAP's strategy of indulging in deceitful politics to undermine their opponents’ reputations.
He explained that in a bid to claim credit for road and other developmental initiatives in the area, AAP councillors and supporters staged a disruption in Rajendra Nagar on Wednesday night, during which one of their members fell and sustained injuries.
According to Kapoor, AAP is attempting to incite controversy by falsely alleging that their workers were harmed by BJP supporters.
He noted that back in 2024, the then AAP MLA of Rajendra Nagar had the road in Inderpuri ward excavated to commence certain developmental activities funded by the Delhi Jal Board. However, neither the development was completed nor was the road reinstated.
In February 2025, MP Bansuri Swaraj along with newly elected BJP MLA Umang Bajaj made relentless efforts, ultimately resulting in the successful completion of the development work through officials of the Delhi Jal Board and a private contractor. The entire road was reconstructed using the road-cutting fees paid by the contractor of the Jal Board.
AAP Councillor Jyoti Gautam, who had remained silent for two years, is now attempting to take credit for the work as the Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections draw near.
During a press conference, the Delhi BJP spokesperson challenged AAP leaders by asking: if this development in Inderpuri was funded through their MLA or councillor's allocations, why hadn't it been completed in 2024?
