Are Delhiites Finally Receiving Justice? BJP, RLD React to ACB Summons for Sisodia, Jain in Classroom Construction Case

New Delhi, June 4 (NationPress) The BJP and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) have voiced strong criticism against the AAP following the summons issued by Delhi’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for former ministers Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain. This action relates to the purportedly fraudulent Rs 2,000-crore classroom construction project. Both parties view this as a significant stride towards justice for the residents of Delhi, alleging that the AAP has engaged in corruption and exploited its power for personal gain.

Satyendar Jain is scheduled to appear before the ACB on June 6, while Manish Sisodia is to be questioned on June 9. The inquiries are focused on alleged discrepancies in awarding and managing contracts for building school classrooms and temporary structures within the national capital.

In a statement to IANS, Maharashtra BJP MLA Ram Kadam remarked, "Every time action is initiated against AAP leaders, they assert that it is merely a vendetta. They should bring forth their evidence in court if they believe it to be true."

Kadam criticized AAP leaders for constructing a 'Sheesh Mahal' while pretending to support the impoverished, accusing them of wielding their authority solely for financial gain.

"Everything is documented; how can one ignore the facts?" he further added.

Delhi Minister for Environment, Forest, and Wildlife, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, also condemned the AAP, labeling it as "the most corrupt party in the nation."

Sirsa charged both Sisodia and Jain with being central figures in the extensive scam concerning classrooms and temporary shelters.

"Consider a scam of this magnitude worth Rs 2,000 crore, where temporary shelters were priced at Rs 8,800 per square foot—a rate sufficient to construct a five-star hotel with furnishings costing no less than Rs 1,500 per square foot," Sirsa asserted.

He continued, "The funds were allocated to 34 associates of the accused, with prices predetermined by the architects. The entire operation was manipulated, resulting in significant financial losses."

Sirsa expressed contentment with the ongoing investigation, stating, "At last, the people of Delhi are obtaining justice. The manner in which Jain and Sisodia plundered Delhi demands accountability. The ACB will complete its investigation, and the truth will unfold."

Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader and former MP, Malook Nagar, also commented on the situation, underscoring the importance of the rule of law and constitutional governance.

Nagar emphasized, "This nation operates under the Constitution and laws enacted by Parliament. Anyone involved in a scam must undergo legal examination by appropriate agencies."

He highlighted the necessity of accountability in public service, asserting, "This serious scam involving thousands of crores warrants summons and notifications, and those implicated must respond accordingly. The responsibility lies with the investigative bodies."

Nagar encouraged cooperation with the legal process, stressing, "Those involved must substantiate their actions by providing documentation and proving their innocence within the legal framework."

He reaffirmed the principle of equality before the law, stating, "In a democracy, the law applies equally to all. It is not solely the common person who can face punishment—those in constitutional positions, past or present, cannot evade accountability. The nation will be governed by the Constitution, and all must adhere to the same procedures."

In the meantime, both Jain and Sisodia have been summoned to participate in the investigation concerning alleged irregularities in the construction of semi-permanent school rooms and buildings, executed by the previous administration of the Delhi government, at inflated prices.
