Bengaluru, Nov 25 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP has directed sharp criticism towards the Congress-led Karnataka administration over the alarming decline in law and order, highlighting the rising suspensions of police officers due to their alleged involvement in criminal offenses. Karnataka BJP chief and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra expressed concern over the unsettling fact that 124 police personnel have been suspended for their roles in various crime cases.

He pointed out that the suspension of these officers in Bengaluru within the last ten months unveils a troubling situation.

“The individuals tasked with ensuring public safety are increasingly implicated in criminal acts, prompting a critical inquiry: what assurance of safety can citizens expect from this government?” the BJP leader questioned.

“The root of this crisis lies in the mismanagement of the Congress. A bewildered Home Minister, more engrossed in internal conflicts than in governance, has allowed criminality to permeate the police force,” he criticized.

Karnataka deserves an administration that prioritizes order and accountability over this prevailing chaos, he asserted.

The involvement of a serving police constable, identified as the primary architect of a staggering Rs 7.11 crore daylight heist, has come to light from Bengaluru, the BJP leader revealed.

The suspect, Annappa Naik from the Govindapura police station, was apprehended alongside Xavier, a former employee of Cash Management Services (CMS).

Investigators disclosed that the duo had meticulously planned the robbery for over six months following Xavier's departure from the company.

The Karnataka Police also reported the arrest of four individuals, including two sub-inspectors, connected to a gold robbery incident in the Davanagere district.

This incident occurred within the KTJ Nagar police station jurisdiction in Davanagere city on Tuesday.

The arrests stemmed from a complaint lodged by Vishwanath Arkasali, a gold trader from Karwar.

According to law enforcement, Vishwanath had arrived at the Davanagere bus station with 80 grams of gold when the sub-inspectors, allegedly posing as members of the IG Squad, robbed him.

Karnataka's Home Minister G. Parameshwara has issued a stern warning, stating that any police personnel involved in criminal activities will face immediate dismissal. He also indicated that he has instructed senior officers to exercise heightened vigilance regarding this matter.

Point of View

It is crucial to approach this situation with a commitment to uncovering the truth. The allegations regarding police involvement in criminal activities cannot be ignored. Such issues highlight the need for accountability and reform in law enforcement, ensuring that public safety is prioritized above political agendas. The focus must remain on restoring trust between the police force and the communities they serve.
