Bengaluru, Aug 18 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP has urged Home Minister G. Parameshwara to address the worries of millions of devotees visiting the Dharmasthala pilgrimage center amid the mass grave claims.
Home Minister G. Parameshwara is set to respond to the alleged Dharmasthala murders on Monday. The government has stated that information regarding the investigation will not be disclosed until the interim report is submitted. This issue is anticipated to spark a vigorous discussion in the Assembly.
Karnataka BJP President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra mentioned on Monday at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru, “BJP MLAs, MPs, and MLCs visited Dharmasthala and paid respects to Lord Manjunatheshwara on Sunday. Following this, we engaged in discussions about the mass grave situation with the Dharmadhikari and BJP Rajya Sabha Member Veerendra Heggade. The people of Karnataka are questioning why the state government has not addressed the propaganda surrounding this issue.”
“In the Assembly today, the Home Minister must clarify whether the state government has shown any intent to halt this propaganda. What actions have been taken?” Vijayendra questioned.
“Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has accused the BJP of politicizing the matter. Mr. Shivakumar, you have previously mentioned a significant conspiracy concerning Dharmasthala and promised to disclose it at the right moment. When will that moment arrive?” he inquired.
“Millions of devotees are alarmed and anxious. There are concerns about the direction of the investigation. It appears that Deputy CM Shivakumar has yet to disclose the supposed conspiracy,” Vijayendra commented.
“The Home Minister must address these pressing concerns. He should present the interim report to alleviate confusion regarding the Dharmasthala situation. We hope the Home Minister provides clarity today. We await the government’s response in the Assembly,” he concluded.
“The state government has established a Special Investigation Team (SIT) based on a complaint from a masked individual. Deputy CM Shivakumar has already indicated that it is a conspiracy. Why hasn’t there been an investigation into those orchestrating the propaganda?” Vijayendra pressed.
“The state government frequently files police reports and FIRs against our party workers for social media activities and detains them. FIRs were rapidly issued in Tumakuru and Mysuru, leading to the arrest of BJP members. Meanwhile, the government has ignored the propaganda from YouTubers and the involvement of Leftist groups, as highlighted by Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao. We are questioning why actions have not been taken to curb this propaganda,” he emphasized.
“If the BJP intended to politicize the situation, we would have acted immediately after the SIT was formed. However, we refrained from doing so. Throughout the investigation, both the state and police departments appeared to overlook the issue of systematic propaganda. The government should take decisive steps against these individuals. The BJP will not remain silent on this matter,” Vijayendra asserted while addressing a question.
