Davanagere (Karnataka), April 3 (NationPress) In a fierce critique, senior BJP official and Opposition Leader R. Ashoka publicly condemned Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday, accusing him of deceiving the populace regarding the execution of the state's guarantee schemes and neglecting essential development efforts.
Speaking to the press in Davanagere, Ashoka asserted that Siddaramaiah, after delivering numerous budgets, has "mastered the art of deception," falsely asserting fiscal responsibility while failing to adequately fund development initiatives or effectively implement the guarantee programs.
Calling for a shift in governance, Ashoka urged voters to back the BJP, claiming the Congress administration has not met public expectations.
He highlighted that the government has not initiated any substantial development projects in the last three years and is thriving on misleading narratives.
Mockingly referring to the Chief Minister, Ashoka suggested Siddaramaiah deserves the moniker "Sullu Ramayya" (the deceiver), accusing him of disseminating false information about the guarantees. He further questioned the execution status of programs like the Indira Kit, inquiring about their implementation.
Regarding the Anna Bhagya initiative, Ashoka asserted that the rice being distributed is sourced from the Central government, while the state merely provides the packaging, accusing Siddaramaiah of claiming undue credit. He clarified that the BJP does not oppose guarantee schemes but criticizes their alleged ineffective implementation.
He stated that even if an additional 25 guarantees were introduced, the BJP would not object as long as they are executed properly.
Ashoka also criticized the government for overlooking backward classes, mentioning that chairpersons for numerous corporations remain unappointed after three years, and funds allocated for these entities have not been disbursed.
He alleged that there has been a misappropriation of funds in various corporations, including the Valmiki Corporation.
Addressing the issue of unemployment, he referenced protests by youth in Hubballi, claiming the government's promise to fill 56,000 job vacancies remains unfulfilled. He alleged that the state lacks the necessary funds for recruitment and will continue to make hollow promises.
The BJP leader raised concerns about the state's financial health, asserting that revenue and tax collections have decreased despite an expanding budget.
He accused the government of resorting to borrowing to settle debts, labeling the current budget as deficit-driven, unlike the surplus budgets seen during BJP governance.
Ashoka also alleged the misallocation of funds intended for SC/ST communities, holding the Chief Minister accountable. He criticized Siddaramaiah for targeting the BJP while disregarding dissent within the Congress, noting that several party members have expressed concerns about the lack of development funding.
