Patna, Sep 13 (NationPress) The 71st Combined Competitive Preliminary Examination (CCE PT) organized by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) was conducted successfully throughout the state on Saturday in a peaceful and fair manner.
This examination is the initial phase for recruitment to administrative roles and attracted participation from numerous candidates.
As per official statistics, a total of 4.71 lakh candidates had registered for the exam. Among these, 3.57 lakh candidates actually downloaded their admit cards, indicating a strong interest to participate.
However, the actual turnout was approximately 64.3%, meaning nearly a third of the registered candidates did not attend.
The Commission implemented comprehensive measures to ensure transparency and security.
Police forces were present inside and outside the examination centers, while biometric attendance, videography, and jammers were utilized to prevent impersonation and unfair practices.
Candidates exiting the exam centers described the paper as well-balanced, covering subjects like general knowledge, history, geography, and current affairs.
Many assessed it as of medium difficulty, while some found certain questions to be analytical and challenging.
Overall, most candidates reported satisfaction with the quality of the exam.
Examination Controller Rajesh Kumar Singh addressed concerns regarding biometric verification, affirming, “If biometric attendance was not completed at some centers, candidates need not be alarmed. Their physical attendance has been duly marked on their admit cards, and this will not negatively impact their examination.”
With the preliminary exam concluded, the Commission will start evaluating the answer sheets. The results will be announced after thorough scrutiny, after which successful candidates will qualify for the main examination.
Those who pass the mains will move on to the interview stage, and only after all phases are completed will the final list of selected candidates be published.
The Commission had previously faced criticism over irregularities in the 70th BPSC exam, making the smooth execution of this year’s test a significant challenge.
With the September 13 exam finishing without disruption—apart from minor technical issues—the BPSC has successfully established a more transparent and secure process.
