Onboard INS Vikrant in Goa, October 20 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of homegrown missile systems, including BrahMos and Akash, during 'Operation Sindoor', stating their effectiveness has caused considerable unease among many.
Speaking to Navy personnel aboard the INS Vikrant during Diwali celebrations, he remarked, "Our missiles, such as BrahMos and Akash, have demonstrated their capabilities in 'Operation Sindoor'. The very mention of BrahMos instills anxiety in many, as they wonder if it is on its way."
The Prime Minister noted that numerous countries are now eager to acquire these advanced missiles.
"Whenever I engage with experts, they consistently express a desire for access to these technologies," he stated.
He further highlighted India's advancing Defence capabilities, asserting, "India is enhancing its capacity to export military equipment across all three services. We aim to become a leading Defence exporter globally, with our exports increasing by 30 times over the past 11 years."
PM Modi also pointed out that an indigenous warship or submarine is being inducted into the Indian Navy every 40 days, showcasing the country's swift progress in Defence manufacturing.
