New Delhi, July 3 (NationPress) By 2047, C-DOT (Centre For Development of Telematics) is expected to position itself alongside global leaders such as Nokia, Ericsson, and Huawei, stated Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development Dr Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar on Thursday. He emphasized that the government would support this vision through financial backing, partnerships, and autonomy.
While addressing an event to unveil SAKSHAM-3000, a cutting-edge switch cum router capable of 25.6 tera bits per second throughput in the national capital, Dr. Sekhar commended the engineers at C-DOT, describing their contributions as “not merely technological but also pivotal in nation-building.”
The SAKSHAM-3000 serves as a sophisticated data centre switch-cum-router, crafted for next-generation digital infrastructure by C-DOT.
He remarked on India’s impressive advancements, including homegrown 4G/5G (NSA) centers, modern disaster management systems, cybersecurity solutions, and explorations into quantum communications.
“The ambition must stem from within,” the minister urged engineers to envision what the country will require five years down the line, beyond mere daily tasks.
“That’s the distinction between participating in a project and actively shaping the future,” he asserted.
“Let’s transition from mere success to true significance. We must cultivate a C-DOT that earns trust not only in India but globally. The nation supports you,” he declared.
He stressed the importance of India taking a leadership role beyond mere production.
Additionally, he called for increased engagement with international standards organizations like the ITU, ETSI, and 3GPP.
In a subsequent post on X, he stated: “Driving the Digital Revolution with Indigenous Excellence. Engaged with the brilliant technocrats of @CDOT_India at the launch of the #Saksham3000 router; a sophisticated solution developed indigenously by C-DOT to bolster next-gen telecom services. These technological strides reflect the Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji’s unwavering commitment to creating a Digitally Atmanirbhar Bharat.”
Equipped with 32 400G ports and a versatile range of Ethernet speeds from 1G to 400G, SAKSHAM-3000 is engineered to support extensive computing clusters, cloud infrastructure, 5G/6G networks, and AI workloads.
Its adaptability allows it to serve various functions from leaf to super-spine nodes in a CLOS network, thanks to its wire-speed processing, ultra-low latency, and modular CROS (C-DOT Router Operating System) operating system.
