Hyderabad, Nov 14 (NationPress) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stated on Friday that the significant victory for the Congress party in the Jubilee Hills by-election serves as a public affirmation of the Congress government’s effectiveness over the past two years.
He extended his congratulations to the Congress leaders and workers for their success, highlighting that this victory amplifies the responsibilities of his administration.
Reddy noted that the performance of the Congress party was commendable, securing 51 percent of the votes, compared to BRS’s 38 percent, while the BJP fell short with only 8 percent.
He emphasized that the public is closely monitoring the two-year governance of the Congress party, expressing their confidence through this significant mandate.
The Chief Minister, along with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, state Congress chief Mahesh Kumar Goud, and state ministers, praised Naveen Yadav for his by-election victory.
CM Revanth Reddy asserted that the Congress government aims to prioritize the development of the state, public welfare, and enhancing state revenues, seeking cooperation from both BRS and BJP.
He expressed intentions to develop Hyderabad into a global city, inviting Union Minister G Kishan Reddy to the State Secretariat to discuss pending projects and required central funding.
The Chief Minister questioned Kishan Reddy’s lack of support for acquiring central funds, suggesting that Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka conduct a review of pending projects and report to the MPs.
“We are drafting plans for Metro Rail expansion, elevated corridors, the Musi project, addressing traffic issues, and transporting Godavari water to Hyderabad,” the CM stated, accusing BRS of hindering development by disseminating false information on social media. He claimed that the opposition obstructed the HYDRAA and Musi projects.
Highlighting the poor performance of BRS and BJP in the by-election, the CM remarked that Kishan Reddy took responsibility for the BJP candidate's performance, which garnered only 17,000 votes. He warned that if the Union minister does not change his approach, the BJP could face significant political repercussions in the future.
CM Revanth Reddy also advised KTR and Harish Rao to amend their attitudes. “KTR's arrogance and Harish Rao's jealousy should be addressed. Power is not a guarantee for anyone. The public has given a clear verdict for Congress in 2023 with 39.5 percent votes, which increased to 41 percent in the Lok Sabha elections, and now 51 percent in Jubilee Hills. Congress received more votes than BRS and BJP combined,” he said.
He refrained from commenting on BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), stating it is inappropriate to criticize a leader who is currently unwell and inactive in politics.
Revanth Reddy also noted that Harish Rao and KTR appear to be vying for KCR's position.
