Bhopal, July 9 (NationPress) The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has officially granted in-principle approval for the establishment of an All-India Radio (Aakashvani) station in Ujjain, as stated by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
This announcement followed a meeting where CM Yadav, alongside the recently elected BJP unit chief of Madhya Pradesh, Hemant Khandelwal, met with Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, L. Murugan, in New Delhi on Tuesday.
During their discussion, CM Yadav pressed for the prompt initiation of the Akashvani centre, particularly in light of the upcoming 2028 Simhastha Kumbh Mela.
In the interim, broadcasts will be facilitated via the Indore Akashvani Centre until the new Ujjain studio is operational.
Chief Minister Yadav confirmed, "In-principle approval has been granted to establish the Akashvani centre in Ujjain."
Union Minister Murugan expressed his commitment to providing necessary support and assured that relevant procedures would be set in motion, as per Yadav’s statement.
In addition, CM Yadav announced that the state has earmarked 60 acres of land for a cutting-edge rail coach manufacturing facility in Raisen district.
This ambitious project is projected to involve an investment of approximately Rs 1,800 crore, engaging participation from the Madhya Pradesh government, the Ministry of Railways, and the Ministry of Defence.
Yadav extended an invitation to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to inaugurate the project and held comprehensive discussions regarding its significance.
It is anticipated that this factory will create job opportunities for nearly 1,500 individuals and will become a key player in India's rail coach manufacturing landscape.
CM Yadav also revealed that Madhya Pradesh is making substantial strides in renewable energy, in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision.
He stated, "The state government is diligently working on solar, wind, and pumped storage energy projects. Madhya Pradesh currently holds the title of the lowest electricity supplier in the country, even powering the Delhi Metro."
Furthermore, the government intends to install solar panels for 32 lakh farmers, enabling them to produce their own electricity. This initiative is expected to relieve the state of approximately Rs 18,000 crore in subsidies.
In discussions with Union Minister for Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi, CM Yadav expressed optimism about the ongoing projects and forthcoming advancements.
He emphasized that the upcoming solar parks, boasting a cumulative capacity of 4,200 MW, will represent a significant milestone in the state's renewable energy journey.
Moreover, collaboration with Uttar Pradesh is in progress to develop 2,000 MW of solar power, with a mutual energy exchange agreement scheduled every six months between the two states.
