Centre Optimizes Three Highway Initiatives in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan

New Delhi, Dec 19 (NationPress) The Centre's Network Planning Group (NPG) has conducted an evaluation of three highway development initiatives in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan to enhance their alignment with the principles of PM GatiShakti, which aims for the integrated development of multimodal infrastructure, last-mile connectivity to economic and social hubs, intermodal connectivity, and synchronized project execution, as per an official statement released on Thursday.

The projects overseen by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways include the Barabanki-Bahraich initiative, which focuses on upgrading 101.54 Km of the NH-927 corridor to a 4-lane configuration with six-lane structures.

This enhanced connectivity will link Lucknow, Shrawasti Airport, NH-27, and the India-Nepal border, facilitating trade and reducing travel times across Uttar Pradesh and Northern India. The project is set to unlock economic opportunities by bolstering industries, tourism, and trade activities, as highlighted in the statement.

The second project in Uttar Pradesh involves the creation of a 118.8 km 4-lane greenfield highway with six-lane structures, connecting Kanpur Ring Road to Kabrai on NH-35. This project integrates multimodal connectivity to seven railway stations and three airports, thereby enhancing accessibility throughout Kanpur, Hamirpur, and Mahoba districts.

This initiative is expected to stimulate industrial growth, tourism, and regional integration, significantly contributing to Uttar Pradesh's economic advancement.

The third proposal pertains to a 40.725 km 4-lane access-controlled Greenfield Highway along NH-311 in Rajasthan, connecting Singhana to Titanwar in the state. By resolving the issues of the existing single-to-intermediate lane roads, this project aims to enhance freight and passenger movement across Sikar, Nagaur, Jodhpur, and Delhi, as explained in the statement.

The initiative will facilitate improved logistics, strengthen regional trade, and promote economic development in the regions of Rajasthan, Haryana, and Delhi.

According to the statement, upon completion, these initiatives are anticipated to make a significant contribution to India's infrastructure landscape, ensuring that the benefits of seamless connectivity reach every region. By enhancing multimodal transport systems and addressing critical infrastructure shortfalls, these projects align with the government's vision for integrated and sustainable development.
