Writing in Punjabi, he stated: 'ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਜ ਇੱਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਵੱਡਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਹਿਮ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ' ['Today, a very big and important addition has been made to the Aam Aadmi Party family'].

Rajmohinder Singh Majitha is a well-known figure in Punjab's Sikh socio-religious circles, having served as a member of both the Rajya Sabha and the Punjab Legislative Assembly. His association with the Chief Khalsa Diwan — the historic Sikh body founded in 1883 that remains active in education, community welfare and gurdwara affairs — lends the joining considerable symbolic weight.
