New Delhi, March 7 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin, criticized the Union Education Minister on Friday regarding the controversial Hindi imposition issue, asserting that he has reignited a battle he cannot possibly win.

Continuing his criticism, CM Stalin referred to the Centre's three-language policy under the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020 as "Hindi colonialism" and emphasized that "Tamil Nadu will not accept Hindi colonialism in place of British colonialism".

In a post shared on his X account, CM Stalin stated, "It was the Union Education Minister who incited us to compose this series of letters while we were merely fulfilling our duties. He forgot his position and dared to threaten an entire state to comply with #HindiImposition, and now he must face the repercussions of reigniting a battle he cannot win. Tamil Nadu will not be coerced into capitulation."

He pointed out the profound irony that Tamil Nadu, which opposes NEP, has already accomplished many of the objectives the policy aims to achieve only by 2030. "This is akin to an LKG student lecturing a PhD holder. Dravidam does not take orders from Delhi. Instead, it charts the course for the nation to follow," the CM asserted.

CM Stalin also ridiculed the state BJP's signature campaign in favor of the NEP, challenging the opposition party to run on the same issue in next year's Assembly elections.

"Now the BJP’s circus-like signature campaign advocating the three-language formula has turned into a source of ridicule in Tamil Nadu. I dare them to make this their central theme in the 2026 Assembly elections and let it serve as a referendum on Hindi imposition," CM Stalin remarked.

While criticizing the BJP-led Central government, CM Stalin reiterated, "The record is evident. Those who attempted to impose Hindi on Tamil Nadu have either faced defeat or later altered their stance and allied with DMK. Tamil Nadu will not endure Hindi colonialism supplanting British colonialism."

Highlighting the Central government's schemes, institutions, and awards, CM Stalin stated, "From the names of schemes to awards and Union government institutions, Hindi has been imposed excessively, suffocating non-Hindi speakers, who represent the majority in India."

"Men may come and men may go. But even after Hindi's dominance in India is dismantled, history will remember that it was DMK that stood as the frontline defenders," CM Stalin concluded in his post.
