In his post, the Chief Minister stated: 'आज भगवान बुद्ध की महापरिनिर्वाण स्थली कुशीनगर और महायोगी गुरु श्री गोरखनाथ जी की पावन तपोस्थली गोरखपुर में विकास एवं जनकल्याण के अनेक संकल्प साकार होंगे' ['Today, in Kushinagar — the site of Lord Buddha's Mahaparinirvana — and in Gorakhpur — the sacred site of meditation of Mahayogi Guru Shri Gorakshnath Ji — many pledges of development and public welfare will be fulfilled']. The post extended 'heartfelt congratulations' to residents of both districts.

Kushinagar is revered globally as the place where the Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana, making it a key node in Uttar Pradesh's Buddhist pilgrimage circuit. Gorakhpur is the headquarters of the Gorakhnath Math, the Nath monastic institution led by the Chief Minister himself.

The Kushinagar, Ramkola, and Hata assembly constituencies will see the inauguration or foundation-laying of 464 projects at a cost of more than ₹525 crore. Since 2017, the Yogi Adityanath administration has pursued phased road and connectivity upgrades across Purvanchal districts in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
