What Happened at the 'Samvidhan Bachao Rally' in Alwar?

Jaipur, July 19 (NationPress) The Congress party organized a "Samvidhan Bachao" (Save Constitution) rally in Alwar, Rajasthan on Saturday, with the presence of prominent party figures.

During the event, Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra expressed gratitude to the citizens of Alwar for electing numerous Congress MLAs in the Assembly elections.

He referred to the Congress high command's selection of Tika Ram Jully as the Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan, viewing it as a significant acknowledgment for the district.

While discussing the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Dotasra recognized past mistakes, stating that despite the hard work of grassroots Congress members, the current BJP-led state leadership has not met expectations.

He voiced optimism that with committed efforts moving forward, Congress would achieve success in future Assembly and parliamentary elections.

Criticizing the BJP-led state government, Dotasra remarked, "The current leaders are blinded by arrogance, power, and wealth. Instead of serving the nation, they misuse central agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against opposition leaders and promote religious division."

He challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi's focus, asserting, "When he was nominated for Prime Minister, he promised to uplift the poor, support farmers, and enhance education. However, since taking office, his focus has shifted to international trips and luxury attire, neglecting pressing domestic issues."

In reference to Operation Sindoor, Dotasra expressed concern over former US President Donald Trump's recent comment about five Indian fighter jets being shot down, questioning the government's silence on this issue.

"Why is the Prime Minister, who previously boasted about foreign policy, now silent?" he questioned.

Discussing the farmers' protest, Dotasra accused the state government of betraying farmers by enacting and then repealing controversial farm laws only after prolonged agitation.

Dotasra also claimed that constitutional bodies are being misused, stating, "The ED never investigates BJP leaders like Bhupender Yadav, the Union Minister from Alwar. When the ED only targets the opposition, it raises doubts about whether the nation is governed by the Constitution or under dictatorship."

He alleged a Rs 500 crore scam in Alwar, asserting that BJP leaders have overstepped by accepting electoral bond donations in exchange for favors.

He noted that leaders like Ajit Pawar, once embroiled in corruption accusations, now serve as Deputy Chief Ministers in BJP-led governments, highlighting the ruling party's hypocrisy.

Commenting on Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, Dotasra stated, "He should prioritize performance. Even within the BJP, there was reluctance to appoint him as Chief Minister. Now that he holds the position, we respect the constitutional process. But what has he achieved? Panchayat elections are delayed, English medium schools are closing, dissenters face legal action, and mafias are thriving—from land to gravel and even invading lion sanctuary boundaries."

He concluded that situations like these necessitate rallies such as 'Samvidhan Bachao', as the Constitution and democratic values are under threat in the nation.

The rally saw attendance from esteemed party leaders, including State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra, Congress General Secretary Jitendra Singh, Rajasthan Congress In-charge and MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, AICC Secretary Chiranjeev Rao, Leader of Opposition Tika Ram Jully, several MLAs, MPs, party candidates, and senior Congress members.
