Bengaluru, July 12 (NationPress) - S.N. Subba Reddy, a three-time Congress MLA, has boldly declared that he will donate any foreign assets found in his name to the government. This statement comes after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) executed raids at his home and other properties.
These actions were triggered by claims that Reddy might hold properties in nations including Germany, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. During a media interaction, Reddy asserted that his political rivals orchestrated a malicious campaign against him, alleging that they forged documents and misrepresented facts to the ED in an attempt to tarnish his reputation.
“I have not acquired any property abroad. My images have been manipulated, and my likeness has been wrongly placed on photographs of others. Those opposing me created fake documents indicating that I own overseas properties and submitted them to the ED,” he stated.
Reddy insisted that the raids were a result of these false allegations. “If it is established that I have invested a single paisa in any foreign land, I will relinquish that property to the government,” he proclaimed.
“In the last 15 years, I have not set foot in Germany, Malaysia, or Hong Kong. In fact, I have never visited Germany at all. I believe a defeated candidate from the recent Assembly elections is behind this plot,” he added.
“I am wrongly accused of purchasing property from Ramaswamy Veeran. They have manipulated photos to create an illusion of my ownership of international assets,” he continued.
“The ED conducted raids based on these fabricated documents. I have also acquired copies of these documents and sought to file a complaint with the cybercrime police, but my requests were denied. I will now formally pursue a complaint in court,” concluded MLA Reddy.
The ED's raids targeted Reddy's properties in Bengaluru on Thursday, focusing on allegations of undisclosed foreign assets linked to him and his family. These investigations were carried out under Section 37 of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), with searches spanning five locations.
The ED reportedly received tips regarding deposits made by Reddy in foreign bank accounts and purchases of real estate in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Germany, and others.
MLA Reddy represents the Bagepalli Assembly constituency in Chikkaballapura District.
