Patna, Nov 6 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed different rallies in Bihar on Thursday as part of the ongoing Assembly election campaign, delivering sharp critiques against the RJD and Congress, accusing them of a history of misgovernance and corruption.

Speaking at a rally in Araria, PM Modi unveiled what he referred to as a "report card" for the years 1990 to 2005, claiming that this period represented a time of "misrule" with Bihar experiencing "zero" development in crucial areas such as expressways, bridges over the Kosi, tourist circuits, sports complexes, and medical colleges.

"In the name of governance, you were merely looted. How many expressways were constructed during those 15 years? Zero. How many bridges over the Kosi? Zero. How many tourist circuits? Zero. How many sports complexes? Zero. How many medical colleges? Zero," PM Modi stated.

He also pointed out that no IIT or IIM was established during this time.

PM Modi praised the NDA and the "double-engine government" for the establishment of institutions like IIT Patna, IIM Bodh Gaya, AIIMS Patna, and Darbhanga AIIMS.

Labeling the 1990s as a period marked by violence, corruption, and poor governance, the Prime Minister asserted that the Grand Alliance had become synonymous with this negative identity of Bihar.

PM Modi accused the Congress and RJD of "protecting infiltrators" and mentioned remarks made by Congress leaders that insulted traditional beliefs, referencing comments made about Chhath Puja. He expressed his belief that Bihar's voters, particularly women, would not permit a return to "jungle raj."

He further claimed that there were internal conflicts within the opposition alliance, suggesting that Congress and RJD candidates were undermining each other.

At a later rally in Bhagalpur, PM Modi attributed the responsibility for caste riots to the RJD and accused Congress of instigating communal riots, stating that the scars of the Bhagalpur riots would never fade.

"The RJD plunged Bihar into caste riots, while the Congress instigated communal riots. The stain of the Bhagalpur massacre will never be erased from Congress’s record, just as the stain of the killing of Sikhs cannot be washed away," PM Modi remarked.

He alleged that the political actions of the RJD and Congress had driven Bihar's youth to migrate.

"Those who engage in destructive politics do not favor Bihar’s development. Due to their misdeeds, the youth of Bihar have faced the curse of migration. The NDA is committed to ensuring that Bihar’s youth will work within Bihar and restore its glory," he declared.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, addressing a rally in Ramnagar, West Champaran, accused RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav of involvement in numerous scams, including fodder scams, land-for-jobs schemes, and flood relief mismanagement.

He criticized the RJD and Congress for allegedly defending infiltrators, questioning, "Should infiltrators be removed from Bihar's voter list or not? Recently, Rahul Gandhi embarked on a ‘Save the Infiltrators’ march, arguing that infiltrators should remain on the voter list. These infiltrators steal jobs from our youth, claim rations meant for the poor, and threaten national security," Shah stated.

"From the heart of Ramnagar, I want to say: Rahul Gandhi, hold as many marches and press conferences as you wish — the BJP will endeavor to remove every single infiltrator from Bihar and across the nation," he asserted.

He mentioned that sugar mills had closed during the "jungle raj" and vowed that the NDA would revive these units.

Shah expressed confidence that the NDA would triumph in West Champaran and proclaimed that the counting on November 14 would signify the end of RJD-Congress influence.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, campaigning in Patahi in East Champaran, described the RJD's culture as one of violence.

"The RJD’s culture has always been violent. Even in their election campaigns, they are encouraging children to sing songs about guns," Singh noted.

He remarked that Bihar experienced fear and lawlessness during the RJD era, and that people from across India viewed the state as a symbol of "jungle raj."

"Goons ruled the streets. People feared going out after dark. Bihar does not want to return to that era," he added.

Singh emphasized the changes that have occurred under the NDA, pointing to improved perceptions, infrastructure, and outcomes from the Swachh Bharat initiative.

He praised CM Nitish Kumar, stating that he has faced no accusations during his tenure.

"Despite serving as Chief Minister for 20 years, not a single allegation has ever been made against him. Today's leaders, who are accused of corruption, keep praising themselves. The people of Bihar are poised to create an NDA government with a two-thirds majority," Singh concluded.

Voting in Bihar is being conducted in two phases — November 6 (completed) and November 11.

All major parties are intensively campaigning for the second phase.
