Patna, May 21 (NationPress) The President of Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and Bihar's Minor Water Resources Minister, Santosh Suman, voiced strong criticism against Congress on Wednesday. He accused the party of indirectly supporting Pakistan's anti-India narrative through their remarks that question the Indian Army and the government's actions led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Suman stated that the recent statements made by Congress leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, which cast doubt on Indian military operations against Pakistan, reflect an attitude of “opposition to the nation, rather than just the government.”
“The nation will not tolerate Congress's pro-Pakistan rhetoric merely to target Prime Minister Modi,” Suman remarked.
He specifically criticized Rahul Gandhi for his comments on the number of aircraft lost during airstrikes and the jibes made by UP Congress President regarding Rafale. He also mentioned Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah's resistance to anti-terror operations, labeling these remarks as an affront to the Indian Army and the country. Such statements, he added, serve to bolster Pakistani propaganda, which is being disseminated in their media to damage India's reputation globally.
Furthermore, Suman pointed out Rahul Gandhi's challenge to S. Jaishankar's comments on Operation Sindoor, which were later clarified by the External Affairs Ministry.
He also noted the rising internal discord within Congress regarding Rahul Gandhi's assertive approach.
“Following Shashi Tharoor and Salman Khurshid, even senior figure P. Chidambaram has distanced himself from Rahul's declarations. Chidambaram acknowledged the Ministry of External Affairs' clarification and refrained from escalating the matter,” he stated.
Suman accused Congress of exhibiting “childish dogmatism,” emphasizing that such conduct is detrimental to the party more than to the government.
“Congress's attempts to undermine PM Modi through these methods are driving the party into political irrelevance. The embarrassment they are enduring is self-inflicted,” he concluded.
While Congress has been critical of the government's foreign policy and military strategies, the NDA has responded by accusing them of undermining India’s standing on the international stage.
