New Delhi, Dec 9 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Tuesday during a meeting with leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parliamentary party that India has officially embarked on a comprehensive “Reform Express” journey. This phase is characterized by swift, purpose-driven, and citizen-centric governance reforms, as reported by sources.
In his address to the Members of Parliament, the Prime Minister emphasized that the government's reform initiatives are not solely aimed at enhancing economic performance or augmenting revenue but are fundamentally focused on improving the daily lives of ordinary citizens.
“Our objective is to eliminate daily challenges faced by citizens so they can achieve their utmost potential,” he mentioned, encouraging MPs to actively communicate the grassroots concerns raised by the public so that the government can respond promptly.
PM Modi underscored the administration's determination to dismantle bureaucratic barriers that encumber citizens, including protracted application processes and redundant paperwork, as further noted by sources.
He indicated that the government intends to transition towards a system where services are accessible directly at people’s doorsteps, thereby negating the need for repeated submissions of identical data across different departments.
Reflecting on the government's initiative to implement self-certification for various services and programs, the Prime Minister remarked that this change is grounded in a fundamental trust in citizens—a trust that has remained robust for the past decade without significant misuse.
Pointing out that Ease of Life and Ease of Doing Business are pivotal to his administration's agenda, PM Modi stated that the ongoing reforms aim to render governance quicker, simpler, and more transparent, ensuring that benefits are efficiently delivered to every household.
Previously, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju noted that all NDA MPs expressed their congratulations to PM Modi regarding the alliance's momentous success in the Bihar Assembly elections.
After the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting on Tuesday, Rijiju informed the media, "During the Parliamentary Party gathering, on behalf of the entire NDA leadership, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honored with a victory garland and celebrated for the remarkable win in the Bihar elections."
He further mentioned that the Prime Minister provided direction on how to advance efforts for the state and region.
