New Delhi, Dec 7 (NationPress) The President of the Delhi BJP, Virendra Sachdeva, expressed on Sunday that the citizens of the national capital are astounded by the fact that leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), including Arvind Kejriwal and Saurabh Bhardwaj, persist in their negative political rhetoric despite suffering a significant electoral loss earlier this year.
Sachdeva remarked that the issues concerning water and air pollution in Delhi stem from nearly 15 years of negligence during both the Congress and Kejriwal administrations. Yet, AAP leaders persist in fabricating narratives that hold the BJP-led state government accountable for these challenges.
He emphasized that the entire city is aware that the decade-long rule of Kejriwal was marred by rampant corruption in the guise of Yamuna cleaning, with minimal efforts made to tackle air pollution. Furthermore, the disruption of the city's public transport system and the neglect of road maintenance have exacerbated the air quality crisis, he added.
Sachdeva lamented the unchanged political demeanor of AAP leaders, even after their recent Assembly election loss.
“In light of the impressive Chhath Puja arrangements made by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta along the banks of the Yamuna, they have shamelessly propagated falsehoods about a 'fake Yamuna' at Vasudev Ghat,” he stated.
Notably, despite this disinformation campaign, AAP faced a heavy defeat in the recent by-elections across 12 wards of the Delhi Municipal Corporation, including the Greater Kailash ward previously represented by AAP President Saurabh Bhardwaj.
“Yet, he continues to sow confusion regarding Vasudev Ghat,” Sachdeva remarked.
He conveyed that the people of Delhi expect Bhardwaj to learn from his recent 4,000 votes loss in the Greater Kailash by-election and to refrain from making unnecessary statements about Vasudev Ghat, focusing instead on the public welfare.
In a separate note, BJP workers, opposition party representatives, and various dignitaries paid their respects to former Governor and Senior Advocate Swaraj Kaushal during a condolence meeting.
At the meeting's end, MP Bansuri Swaraj shared fond memories of her father, Swaraj Kaushal, and her mother, Sushma Swaraj, offering her tributes.
Bansuri expressed her appreciation to all dignitaries, including judges from the Supreme Court and High Courts, political leaders, relatives, and fellow advocates, stating, “Your support will empower me to cope with this untimely loss.”
