New Delhi, Nov 17 (NationPress) As part of its ongoing investigation into the car bomb explosion in the Red Fort vicinity, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has apprehended another significant accomplice who allegedly supplied technical assistance to the individuals behind the attack, according to an official announcement.
Jasir Bilal Wani, also known as Danish, a resident of Kashmir, was detained in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, by an NIA unit that was in the region working on case RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI.
The NIA's inquiries have indicated that Jasir allegedly offered technical support for executing terrorist acts by altering drones and attempting to manufacture rockets prior to the fatal car bomb explosion, which resulted in the deaths of 10 individuals and injuries to 32 others.
The individual, hailing from Qazigund in Anantnag district, played a crucial role in the conspiracy and collaborated closely with the terrorist Dr Umar Muhammad Nabi to strategize the horrific attack.
The NIA is diligently examining various leads to uncover the full extent of the plot behind the bombing. Multiple teams from the anti-terror agency are actively pursuing different angles and conducting searches across various states to identify all individuals involved in the attack.
Earlier in the day, the agency had placed Aamir Rashid Ali, another Kashmiri individual implicated in the conspiracy with Dr Umar Muhammad Nabi, in a 10-day NIA custody. Ali is linked to the November 10 terror incident near the Red Fort.
On November 16, the NIA arrested Ali, who was the registered owner of the vehicle used in the attack. His capture occurred during a large-scale search operation initiated by the agency after it assumed control of the case from the Delhi Police, as stated by an official.
The investigation revealed that Ali, who resides in Samboora, Pampore, Jammu and Kashmir, had conspired with the alleged suicide bomber, Umar Nabi, to orchestrate the attack. The agency indicated that Ali had traveled to Delhi to assist in acquiring the vehicle that was later utilized as a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (IED) to trigger the explosion.
The NIA has confirmed through forensic analysis that the deceased driver of the vehicle-borne IED was Dr Umar Nabi, a resident of Pulwama district and an Assistant Professor in the General Medicine Department at Al Falah University in Faridabad.
