New Delhi, Nov 29 (NationPress) The Delhi Police have issued directives to private hospitals throughout the national capital, requesting details about doctors who completed their medical training overseas, according to officials on Saturday.
Hospitals are required to furnish comprehensive records of doctors possessing MBBS degrees from Pakistan, Bangladesh, the UAE, and China.
Officials have specifically instructed hospital managements to disclose the names and qualifications of doctors educated in these nations who are currently employed in private medical institutions in Delhi.
This initiative is part of a heightened effort to dismantle a suspected terrorist network linked to the tragic car explosion near the Red Fort.
On November 10, a car blast near Delhi's Red Fort resulted in the deaths of 13 individuals and left many others injured, prompting an extensive investigation that uncovered a sophisticated 'white-collar' terror network associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed.
Prior to the explosion, multiple arrests occurred across various states, leading investigators to assemble evidence of an interstate terror module.
In the aftermath of the explosion, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) linked the incident to previous arrests, unveiling a series of new findings as the inquiry progressed.
To date, the NIA has apprehended seven individuals related to the blast, which involved a Hyundai i20 driven by Dr. Umar Muhammad, which detonated near the Lal Qila Metro station.
Among those arrested are Dr. Muzammil Shakeel from Pulwama, Dr. Adeel Ahmed Rather from Anantnag, Dr. Shaheen Saeed from Lucknow, and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay from Shopian.
Investigators indicated that these individuals played crucial roles in planning the attack that resulted in numerous casualties.
Earlier apprehensions included Amir Rashid Ali, the registered owner of the vehicle involved in the blast; Jasir Bilal Wani, who provided technical support to the assailants; and Soyab, who reportedly harbored Umar and offered logistical assistance shortly before the detonation.
Investigations are ongoing.
