New Delhi, Nov 22 (NationPress) A Special NIA Court has permitted Jasir Bilal Wani, the aide of the Delhi blast bomber Dr Umar Muhammad, to consult with his lawyers for one hour every two days while he remains under the custody of the anti-terror investigative agency.
The Special NIA Court located in the Patiala House complex has granted Wani the opportunity to communicate with his legal counsel for 20 minutes during each session, which will take place between 5 and 6 p.m., as stated by a lawyer.
The NIA has characterized Wani as an active co-conspirator of terrorist Dr Umar. He was apprehended on November 17 in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir for allegedly providing technical support for executing terror attacks.
Reports indicate he was involved in modifying drones and was attempting to construct rockets in the lead-up to the devastating car bomb explosion.
The accused, hailing from Qazigund in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, is said to have been a key player in the Delhi attack. He collaborated closely with terrorist Dr Umar Muhammad Nabi to orchestrate and carry out the act of terror.
The Patiala House Court had, on Tuesday, remanded Jasir Bilal Wani to 10 days of NIA custody.
The NIA presented Wani to the court in relation to the Delhi blast that resulted in 13 fatalities.
The NIA is actively investigating various aspects to reveal the complete conspiracy surrounding the bombing. Multiple teams from the anti-terror agency are pursuing different leads and conducting searches across several states to identify everyone involved in the attack.
In the meantime, police have established a link to Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) concerning the November 10 blast near the renowned Red Fort in Delhi. Authorities discovered that it was a JeM operative who had guided the accused on how to fabricate the bombs.
Another significant revelation is that the accused were in the process of preparing 200 bombs, intended to detonate simultaneously in Delhi and other parts of North India.
The objective was to execute bomb blasts across various states in North India, and for this, the ISI had selected a JeM operative to train the accused who were part of the Faridabad module.
