New Delhi, Oct 19 (NationPress) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday conveyed her warm Diwali wishes to the residents and emphasized the importance of celebrating the festival in a safe and eco-friendly manner by opting for Green Crackers.
In her message, she stated, “Let us take a pledge to nurture love and brotherhood during this festive season.”
The Chief Minister urged citizens to exclusively use Green Crackers to safeguard Delhi from pollution and encouraged them to light traditional diyas, create beautiful rangoli, and share sweets to convey joy.
She reaffirmed that protecting the environment in the nation's capital remains a top priority for the government.
Earlier, she visited Vasudev Ghat along the banks of the Yamuna near Kashmiri Gate to oversee preparations for the upcoming Chhath Mahaparv. She directed officials to enhance facilities for devotees, as stated in an official release.
During this visit, she assessed ongoing efforts related to cleanliness, leveling, lighting, security, and amenities for worshippers, issuing necessary instructions to officials, according to the official statement.
The Chief Minister asserted that the Delhi Government is wholeheartedly dedicated to making this year’s Chhath festival more magnificent, secure, and organized than ever before.
Minister for Development and Tourism Kapil Mishra accompanied her during the inspection.
The Chief Minister noted that the Yamuna's water has become cleaner and clearer, devoid of foam or other pollutants.
She added that continuous cleaning and leveling work at the ghats is being conducted using JCB machines.
Furthermore, she mentioned that all ministers, MLAs, and officials of the Delhi government are actively supervising preparations on-site. She stated that cleanliness and leveling operations are being executed at all ghats from Palla to Kalindi Kunj on a war footing.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that this year’s Chhath Mahaparv will be a unique and memorable experience for the people of Delhi.
“Just as this year’s Diwali is being celebrated in an unprecedented fashion, the Chhath festival will also set a new standard for grandeur and organization in the capital,” she remarked.
According to her, just as Delhi has carved a new identity through the successful hosting of the Kanwar Yatra, Ramlila, Durga Puja, and Diwali, the city’s residents will once again witness a “transformed Delhi” during Chhath Puja, embodying a fusion of faith, culture, and cleanliness.
